Review by JRepute

Why are you reading this Jet Grind Radio review?  You should be out playing this totally awesome game of at the store buying it.  Well not really, you probably have had a while to play this game to death and have a ton of great fun. A must have for anyone interested in videogames.  Wondering why?  Read on.

Graphics :: 9.5

With an awesome 'cell-shaded' type graphics where it makes it look "cartoonish" in a beautiful way, but everything in the game is in complete 3D.  The most unique and original graphics on any system. The comic book style put in completely 3D worlds like I said before, is so cool.  OK, away from the cartoons...  The cities are vast and big, kinda like Crazy Taxi, but with the cell-shaded graphics and great colors to brighten up your day.  With all this great talk about the graphics, it does have a little flaw:  The camera can perform problems and why did Sega make the paint and center camera button the same.

Sound :: 9.9

The sound in JGR is nothing short of greatness. The soundtrack is just greatly balanced for anyone, no matter what their music genre may be, you will love its soundtrack.  It includes mainly Japanese pop.  Which is beyond what you would expect in the pop music genre.  You just can't judge it until you hear it, amazing.  Just the Japanese music is good enough for a good score, but Smilebit but more by adding great songs by American artists.  Songs from artists like Jurassic-S, Rob Zombie, Cold, Mix Master Mike, just to name to main ones, there are a few more.  As for the sound effects, they are well-done too, and just add a more toony and fun feel to the game.

Replay Value :: 8.8

This is the game. With several areas and cities to tag, grind, and skate around gives this game a ton a replay value. Enough to keep you playing for plenty hours, until you beat the game and have unlocked all the characters and cities.  It also has a graffiti editor, which isn't that great, be a welcomed addition.

Gameplay :: 9

Great gameplay where you skate around good sized towns and spray objects as you goal. Meanwhile, you will have to look out for all kinds of authority figures, including swat teams, the sheriff, etc... Just to sum it up for you, this is an awesome game that combines the great tricks of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and the massive areas and cities of Crazy Taxi. But is doesn't go without it's faults. The camera can get a little wack at some times. Making it hard to see what is in front, behind, of you. But it is pretty much rare and doesn't greatly affect the greatness of this game. Another cool option that makes this game shine include the ability to create your own gang logo to paint around the cities. If you don't have this game, I only have two words of advise. Buy it if you haven't.

...Jet your way to happy grinding.

Easy to use controls and a great concept of gaming. With a free skate mode  tutorial), and the story mode where you are given missions and things to paint the radio D.J. Also a winner in the pick up and play category where anyone can quickly learn how to play, and have fun right away.  Great music, it should be in your game library now.  Buy it if you haven't.
